Musical career
Willy Renner has played drums since 1970 and works across many styles: rock, funk, soul, pop, blues and jazz. He spent many years as a session drummer and today plays in several bands with different musical focuses. In the early 1990s he performed in New Orleans with the band Frl. Mayer's Hinterhausjazzer, which was made an honorary citizen of the city during that engagement.
